Details of the Terms & Conditions and Modalities of the Engagement
A. Terms of Engagement:
- Purely temporary on contractual basis for a period of 03 (Three) months from the date of engagement. Under no circumstances, these contractual persons will be absorbed in regular establishment of the Government.
- The consolidated monthly remuneration will be Rs. 12,569/- only or as per the rate fixed for "skilled" category by the Labour Commissioner, Govt. of West Bengal from time to time.
B. Eligibility:
- The applicant must be a citizen of India and should be a permanent resident of West Bengal (residents of Kolkata Police jurisdiction area will be preferred).
- Age Limit: 21-40 years as on date of advertisement.
- Minimum Qualification: Class VIII passed from a recognized School.
- Technical Qualification: Must possess valid Four-Wheeler Driving License.
- Experience: At least 02 (Two) years' experience of driving in any Government organization/ Quasi Government organization / Registered Pvt. Ltd. Co. etc.
D. How to Apply:
- Application Form: Prescribed format may be downloaded from West Bengal Police Website (https://wbpolice.gov.in). Application must be printed on white A4 size paper.
- Documents to be attached: Self-attested copy of Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Educational qualification certificates & Experience certificate.
- One recent passport size photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm), self-attested, to be pasted on the top right of the application.
- Application must be submitted personally (not by post) in the DROP BOX during office hours at: MT Section of Directorate of Security, 31/A Belvedere Road, Alipore, Kolkata-700027 (Beside Bhabani Bhawan) by 5 Pm of 27.02.2026.
- Envelope must be superscribed as: "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DRIVER (CONTRACTUAL), 2026".
- If the number of applicants is much higher, then the authority reserves the right to shortlist the applicants on the basis of educational qualification & Driving Experience.
- No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the driving test & interview.
- Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence will be treated as disqualification.
- All original documents will be verified at the time of Interview.
E. Last Date and Time of Receipt of Application: 27.02.2026 by 5:00 pm. No applications will be accepted after this time period. Incomplete applications without required documents will be rejected.
F. Date of Selection: Driving Test & Interview of the shortlisted candidates will be held as per following schedule:
- Uploading of shortlisted candidates: List of shortlisted candidates will be uploaded on 28.02.2026 in the official website of WBP ((https://wbpolice.gov.in) & also displaced in the Notice Board of Directorate of Security, WB at Alipore.
- Driving Test: 01.03.2026 from 9 am onwards.
- Interview: 02.03.2026 from 10 am onwards.
- Place: Office of the Directorate of Security, 31/A Belvedere Road, Alipore, Kolkata-700027 (Beside Bhabani Bhawan)
- Result of Selection: Final list of selected candidates will be displaced in the Notice Board of Directorate of Security, WB at Alipore.
- The contractual service condition will be as per existing Govt. rules and regulations. No claim for regularization in future will be entertained.
- The authority reserves the absolute right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage without any prior notice and without assigning any reason thereof.
