Applications are invited from eligible candidates for 572 posts of “Office Attendant” in Reserve Bank of India, hereinafter referred to as 'the Bank’. Selection for the post will be through a competitive examination (Online Test) followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Recruitment of Scientific Officers

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality: a candidate must be either:

  1. a citizen of India, or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination, but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate is issued to him/her by the Government of India.

Age (as on 01/01/2026):

Between 18 and 25 years. Candidates born not earlier than 02/01/2001 and not later than 01/01/2008 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply.

Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit: Upper age limit will be relaxed as under:

Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (SC / ST) By 5 years, i.e., up to 30 years
Other Backward Classes (OBC) By 3 years, i.e., up to 28 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) By 10 years (GEN/EWS), 13 years (OBC) & 15 years (SC/ST)
Ex-Servicemen To the extent of service rendered by them in Armed Forces plus an additional period of 3 years subject to maximum of 50 years.
Widows/divorced women/ women judicially separated who are not re-married Upto 35 years (40 years for SC/ST)
Candidates having work experience in Reserve Bank of India To the extent of number of years of such experience, subject to maximum of 3 years.

Scheme of Selection:

Selection will be through Online Test and Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

I. Online Test (Multiple Choice):

There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Online Test. 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

II. Language Proficiency Test (LPT):

The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the online test will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). LPT will be of qualifying nature and will be conducted in the Official / Local Language/s of the State concerned as detailed in Annex V. Candidates not proficient in the Official / Local Language as per LPT shall be disqualified.
